Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data WanderMemo collects when you use wandermemo.app and our mobile apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The service is operated by an individual proprietor based in Vietnam; contact hello@wandermemo.app for anything privacy-related.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — your email address, display name, and a hashed password; or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email, and account identifier Google shares with us. We never see your Google password.
- Your content — the photos you upload and the trips, pins, dates, notes, and places you record. Locations in WanderMemo are the ones you enter; we do not track your device’s live location.
- Billing data — payments are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We never receive or store your card number; we receive your subscription status (plan, period, renewal state) via RevenueCat.
- Technical data — server logs (IP address, request time) and automated error reports, kept to run and debug the service.
2. How we use it
- To provide the service: storing and showing your trips, photos, and maps.
- To operate billing: matching your payment to your account and storage quota.
- To send transactional email — verification links and account or billing notices. We do not send marketing email.
- To secure, debug, and improve the service.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising trackers.
3. Who processes it for us
We rely on a small set of processors, each receiving only what its job needs:
- Google Cloud — application hosting and database.
- Cloudflare — content delivery, web hosting, and photo storage (R2).
- Paddle — payment processing as Merchant of Record (receives your email and payment details directly when you buy).
- RevenueCat — subscription state management (receives your account identifier and purchase state).
- Resend — sending transactional email (receives your email address).
- Mapbox — map tiles and place search (receives the map areas and search terms you request, and your IP address).
- Sentry — error monitoring (receives technical error context).
These providers operate globally, so your data may be stored or processed on servers outside your country, protected by each provider’s standard safeguards.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage only to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. There are no third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
5. Sharing your content
Your trips and photos are private by default. They become visible to others only through share links you create, and you can revoke a link at any time. Publicly shared pages show only what the share includes.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your content and personal data are removed from our systems; residual copies in encrypted backups expire within about 30 days. Billing records held by Paddle are retained as required by tax law.
7. Your rights
You can access and edit your data in the app, and delete your account yourself. You can also email us to request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion. If you are in the EEA, UK, or another region with data-protection laws (GDPR or similar), these are the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection — and you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
8. Children
WanderMemo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way we will notify you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
